YMAL is looking for (soon to be) professional designers, who position themselves in an autonomous context, seeking inventive ways to expose their work.
In response to the outbreak of the coronavirus, YMAL deferred old plans to launch a new, quarantine-friendly project instead : Curate your window / Entertain your neighbour. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to take part by displaying graphic design on their window, so as to entertain fellow quarantined neighbours and to support up-and-coming designers, who now more than ever lack a platform to exhibit their work.
Therefore, YMAL is looking for designers willing to dust off / create and upload self-initiated design projects. Note that no commissioning party should be involved. Participants should be able to print out the chosen designs at home, so get creative to capture your work (be it an object, a book, a video, ...) on paper. Film stills, photographs and scans are obviously more than welcome.
As it remains our goal to stimulate the connection between the audience and the designer, a publication on each designer will be compiled, offering insights on life, motivation and sources of inspiration.
Let us prove that creativity really does make the world a brighter place. YMAL is looking forward to all of your applications and is curious for the incoming projects. If you still have any questions: don’t hesitate to send us an email or message us on Instagram!

Our open call will end when the lockdown does. New (provisional) deadline is May 18.
